The Downend Estate was the name for the southern portion of the Isle of Wight Estates on the north and south sides of Arreton Down, extending from Blackbridge Brook below the village of Haven Street, southwards for some 3 miles through the hamlet of Downend to the upper reaches of the River Yar. It included Heasley, Combley, Duxmore, Lynn, and Guildford farms, and portions at Arreton village. The residual estate was offered for sale at auction in 1956[1].

For a detailed description, see General remarks regarding the sale of the Downend Estate, 1956
