MURDEROUS ATTACK UPON GAMEKEEPERS -– James Thorn and Charles Thorn, the first looking like a sailor and the second calling himself a “navigator” but looking, as in fact he is, a labourer, were charged with the most brutal assault upon Charles West and William Salmon, two of the keepers employed on the estate of J W Fleming esq at Stoneham. The keepers had been so cruelly treated that they were unable to attend, and the prisoners were remanded till Thursday. – On Thursday last, the prisoners were again brought up and further remanded, in consequence of the inability of the injured men to attend.
