Red Lodge Warren
From The Muniment Room, a resource for social history, family history, and local history.
Red Lodge Warren was a rabbit warren and warren house at North Stoneham Common on the Stoneham Estate. The warrener in 1728 was Thomas Stacey, whose rent included 40 pairs of rabbits per annum[1]. Being sited on the Common meant there was a good supply of grass for the rabbits, and they were some distance from arable land.
The warren later became part of Red Lodge Farm, when that portion of the Common was enclosed after 1806[2].
